Touching on the acoustics of Ethno Percussions, with a unique blend of the Creative Guitar and Bansuri, Gharana Fusion band's music is influenced by the magical depth of Indian Ragas, ancient Mantras and contemporary styles. The varied cultural and geographical influences of different lands, with oriental flavor and natural elements is finely amalgamated. Their music speaks about the inner emotions, environment, eternal bonding between a mother and her child, harmony among people, lifestyle of rural dwellers connected to the river, confiding to universal cosmic energy and celebration of life.

GHARANA's musicians are from different lands of India, belonging to different religions, cultures and speaking different languages. And so their researched work has a diversified taste laden with Khamak-Bansuri combi, Dizi-Cajon parts, Ocarina-Ghungroo, Bass-Tabla, multi-rhythm patterns, unique fade-ins-outs, breathtaking Sawal-Jawabs (instrumental question-answer) and Jugalbandis (unison), with expressive Bandanas, Alaaps (intro), Bols (rhythm notes), Sargams (song notes) and multilingual vocals (Hindi, Assamese, Sanskrit). The band's stage recitals are sometimes marked with a rare performance by their percussionist, when he demonstrates some unseen acts of amazing sound-production with his body and cheeks, combined with some rare mini-bells tied on the lower part of his dress. All these majestic elements and activities, followed by the punchy bass, arpeggios-strums and emotional flute enthralls the audience and takes them to a transcendental journey, reflecting the true meaning and depth of 'Music'.

GHARANA has given spectacular performances in different national concerts, festivals, cultural centers, cafes, clubs, colleges, communities, house concerts, corporate events, exhibitions, fundraisers, workshops etc., in various countries (St. Petersburg, Egypt, Qatar, Armenia, Georgia, Latvia, UAE, Nepal, New Zealand, India). Their music has received coverages by radios, TV and magazines worldwide.

REVIEWS (worldwide)

Press reviews:

Concertzender (Netherlands)
“Due to the combination of high guitar sounds with percussion on the tabla, this song is a very successful form of crossover...”

Jazz Halo (Belgium)
“Die Melange reißt mit, lässt den Zuhörer kaum auf seinem Sessel verharren. Treibend ist der Rhythmus, der in den Händen von Gitarrist Susnata Har...”

Darlene Koldenhoven (Yanni's vocalist, USA)
“Very interesting, somewhat avant gard eastern music. Very creative.”

Nyhet Musikk - MerlinProg (Norway)
“Lytteren får høre en ganske så unik musikk... Susnata har en temmelig unik måte å spille på som bare må høres!”

Mixed World Music (Netherlands)
“Muzikaal gezien voegt Gharana haar eigen bijzondere verhaal toe aan de wereldmuziek van deze tijd door Indiase en Westerse instrumenten ingenieus te combineren.”

Mumbai Mirror (India)
“Onstage, they are soulful and immersed. No fancy costumes, no excessive drama, and definitely no ridiculous antics – their music speaks for itself. And the audience loves them for that!”

Times of India (India)
“Joining Notes from An Unusual Composition...In modern times of cacophony being sold as 'music' there are some like Gharana band who still believe in aesthetics of classical music and have effectively combined it with western notes.”
